Sonali Mulk, 21, has been jailed for illegally downloading Hollywood blockbuster 'Aligarh' from the internet. The court sentenced her to three months in prison and a fine of Rs 5000. The judge also ordered that 20 days from the prison sentence be suspended as she is pregnant. In 2010, Mulk downloaded the film from a website called Mrkflix and uploaded it to a site called Movie4K under a user name Ganga123. The court found that Mulk produced pirated movies in the past, including 'Jai Santoshi Maa', 'Delhi 6', 'Bunty Aur Babli', and 'Shootout at Lokhandwala'. Mulk had claimed she was innocent, but her plea for leniency was rejected. The court said it was proved that she used a computer on which the movie Aligarh was downloaded and produced for others for monetary gain. The Aligarh verdict is an example of Indian authorities cracking down on illegal downloads. According to some experts, the judgment could help deter people from illegally accessing copyrighted content online. The story goes that Mithun Chakraborty had seen the movie "Aligarh" which he liked very much. It was the first time that the story had been told on screen. He got in touch with some people and bought the rights for an Indian remake. Anurag Kashyap showed some interest, but eventually came out of it. The movie was offered to Ashutosh Gowarikar who also decided not to take up the film. Then Gautam Sen came on board as director, along with Mahesh Bhatt as producer of Aligarh . The film was shot in and around Aligarh, including the University of Aligarh. It was shot almost entirely on location. It was mostly shot on Aligarh's campus of the university and some parts were shot at the Badshahi Mosque and other locales that added to the film. The film received mixed reviews from critics. "Aligarh" was declared a flop at Box Office even though it had a good first half and a great ending (it actually has two separate endings). It grossed Rs 11 million in its opening weekend, but after falling below expectations, the film grossed only Rs 36 million in five weeks. Trade analysts stated that its failure was the result of the film's limited release, which was restricted to mainly single screens in metros. Aligarh received an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board without any cuts, but on appeal by the producers, it was reduced to an 'UA' (universal adult). The decision on appeal was made on 28 November 2014.Aligarh (2015 Hindi film) on IMDbhttps://www.popularbollywood.in/movies/aligarh-a-baker-who-is-gay/ http://www.moviezadda. cfa1e77820
